WHAT WE DO

JMB Music can provide for all your custom arranging, transposing, and engraving needs.

TRANSPOSING

Whether it's for an audition, a musical, a concert, weddings, church, or just for fun, we can transpose any piece of music into the key of your choice.  There are three basic level's of transposing.

Level 1
The composition is played into the computer from a digital keyboard and then using the software's automatic features, laid out on the page.  All tempo markings, repeats, coda's, etc are added in.  No vocal line,  lyrics, chords, dynamics, or articulations are added and the score can be a bit messy as very little editing is done after the software does it's automatic layout.   The piece is readable though by anyquality pianist.  This level is great when you just want a piece transposed for fun.

Turnaround time: 1-2 hours depending on length.
Cost: $5/per page (final product pages, which is often less than the original because there is no vocal line)

Level 2
The piece is played into the computer from a digital keyboard and cleaned up so nothing looks funny.  Vocal lines, lyrics, chords, tempo markings, all repeats and coda's, as well as basic dynamics.  Very few articulations are added.  The piece is perfectly usable for an audition, wedding, or church service. 

Turnaround time: 3-4 hours depending on length.
Cost: $8/page (final product pages, can be longer or shorter than original depending on print size of original)

Level 3
We will do everything possible to make the piece look like the original so no one will know it's transposed.  We have a wide variety of music and print fonts (including handwriten "jazz" fonts).  Perfect for professional auditions, concerts, tours, and more.

Turnaround time: 1 day depending on length
Cost: $12/page (the same number of pages as your original)

I have been engraving for publishers for 14 years using Finale from version 1 to the newest version, Finale 2006.  I have engraved music for National Music Publishers, Choral Online Music Publishing, Above the Line music, and Turtle Tunes. 

I also do "clean up" work.  Taking what the composer/arranger did in Finale or Sibelius type music notation programs and adjusting them to fit the publishers look and need. 

I have done everything from Organ Books, Piano Solo's, Full Orchestration (with Harp diagrams), Brass Quartets, Choral, Pop Choral (with rhythm section and horns), and Concert Band.  I consider Handbell Choirs and Solo's a specialty as I've engraved over 100 handbell pieces. 

Prices vary depending on the project, but average to about $12-$15 per page.  Orchestration or Band score tend to average $20 per page with the parts being an average of $6-$7 per page.  This is only an average.  Please contact me for more accurate quote.  Bulk discounts for steady accounts are available.  Clean up works is charged at simply $20 per hour.
